AMERICAN RED CROSS COURSES All American Red Cross courses have MANDATORY attendance requirements for certification.
Lifeguard
Training Gain the necessary skills to qualify as a non-surf lifeguard. Prerequisites are: swim 500 yards combination of front crawl and breaststroke; perform a surface dive 9 feet to retrieve a 10 pound brick then swim back, holding the brick on top of the water. Candidates must be 16 to work as a lifeguard in Wisconsin . The fee includes your books and certifications for CPR-Professional, First Aid, AED and Lifeguard Training. Must attend every class, NO EXCEPTIONS ! Class meets in the training room and pool. Price: YMCA Member $195; Community Participants $215
Water
Safety Instructor Learn how to conduct and evaluate swimming and water safety courses. Prerequisite is stroke competency through ARC Swim Level 4. . The fee includes your books and certifications for Water Safety Instructor and Water Fitness. Must attend every class, NO EXCEPTIONS! Class meets in the conference room and pool. Price: YMCA Members $195; Community Participants $215
