Enjoy summer with the YMCA! There is something for everyone in our Summer School Age Program including swimming, weekly field trips, arts & crafts, S.T.E.M. activities, reading and learning challenges. Your child will build relationships with our caring and nurturing staff as well as create lifelong memories with their peers. We offer the highest quality of youth programming by combining state licensing and Youngstar requirements while carrying out the Y Mission.
HOW TO REGISTER
Current families (families registered for School Year 2018/2019 or were in Summer 2018) – Saturday, March 30, Dahl Family Y in La Crosse. Tickets will be handed out starting at 6:00am on the day of registration. Registration will start at 7:30am.
THINGS TO KNOW
Swimming days: Tuesday and Thursday
Field Trip day: Wednesday (except week 10 – all sites field trips are Friday, August 9)
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack provided. Students can bring a sack lunch, that doesn’t require refrigeration or heating, if preferred.
Outdoor activities happen 2-3 times a day as weather permits. Children are divided and grouped by age and interest to best meet the needs of all.
We provide sunscreen (NO-AD 30SPF) for your child(ren).
Weekly swimming lessons available through the Y (for an additional fee)

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE
A general day in the Summer School Age program consists of the following activities:
6:30-8:00am Child arrival-choice activities
8:00-9:00am Healthy breakfast
9:00-11:30am Morning activities, team building, group physical activities and small group arts & humanities or S.T.E.M. activities
12:30-3:30pm Afternoon activities – Swimming (2 days), field trip (1 day), group physical activities or small group interest centers
3:30-4pm Healthy Snack
4-6pm Choice Activities-Child Pick Up
