At the Y, we inspire and nurture your child's potential.
The School Age Program creates a space for social and emotional learning which will have a positive impact on mental health and social skills.
The Experience
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is proud to partner with the area school districts In La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen to provide before and after-school care for children in grades K-5. Our licensed program is led by qualified, caring staff and designed to complement the school day with fun activities that also support character development, social-emotional learning, healthy lifestyle choices, and academics — while still making time for fun! We believe that every child deserves a supportive and welcoming environment to thrive in, regardless of their background, abilities, or differences.
Fueling Futures:
We are dedicated to promoting healthy eating habits among our students by offering a variety of wholesome snacks that are both delicious and nutritious. Our snacks are carefully selected to provide essential nutrients while catering to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
In addition to serving nutritious snacks, we also prioritize education and awareness about healthy eating. Our staff members engage students in discussions about the importance of making healthy food choices and provide opportunities for hands-on learning about nutrition.
Professional Role Models
Our staff are professional role models selected based on their experience, attitude, skills, and their ability to expect and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. All of our staff receive Child Abuse Prevention Training, First Aid Training, and a CPR certification.
